A 6.5x8.5 inch tintype on aluminum made via the 19th century wet plate collodion process. It's a hand-made, one of a kind image. It's not a print and no physical copies have been made.
This size was known as "whole plate" in 19th century photographic parlance.
My friend John Coffer found this skull in the woods behind his Dundee, New York farm some time ago. I made this picture in the fall of 2020. I don't actually know what kind of animal it comes from. The skull was a little smaller than a football.
